Local Rules

  1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27-1)
    • Beyond all boundaries clearly defined by fences
    • White/black stakes along the left side of the 13th fairway
    • Concrete path beyond 18th green and Pro Shop area
    • Bitumen path on left side of 9th fairway
    • White/black stakes defining the practice/coaching fairway
      Penalty: Stroke & distance
  2. GROUND UNDER REPAIR (Rule 25-1)
    • All garden beds as defined by green stakes
    • Wheelmarks made by maintenance vehicles (except in hazard)
    • Any area defined by white paint
    • Solidly embedded stones
    • Storm damage awaiting removal
      All may be treated as GUR - No Penalty
  3. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24-2b)
    • Wooden or metal stakes, suports or constructions
    • Bitumen or gravel pathways, shelters, ball washers, taps
    • Metal hoops, concrete covers, signs, distance markers
    • Protective fences, gates, watering and maintenance equipment
    • Fixed sprinkler heads close to putting green
      If a ball lies outside a hazard within 2 club lengths of a sprinkler head which is within 2 club lengths of the putting green and interferes with the line between the ball and the hole, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped without penalty at the nearest point of relief which is not nearer the hole, in a hazard or on the green
    • Trees and shrubs
      If a tree or shrub, less than 2 club lengths in height, interferes with the player's stance or the area of intended swing, the player MUST take relief
      Lift and Drop - No Penalty
  4. MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24-1)
    • Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions and may be removed, but if the ball moves, it must be replaced in the original position.
      No Penalty
  5. WATER HAZARDS
    (Rule 26-1)
    • The dam fronting the 17th tee is a water hazard.
    • The dams bordering the 2st, 10th, 18th tees are lateral water hazards.
      Penalty - One stroke

Competition Rules

Club Championships

Three (3) 18 hole gross ⁄ nett stroke rounds held over consecutive weeks.  To be eligible for the Club Championships, a member MUST be a finanical member for the previous three months, and MUST have returned at least one completed 18 hole card per month for each of those three months or a written leave of absence.  This card will be a completed 18 hole stroke, stableford or par event in club competition for the months of June, July and August  (Registrations must be completed between the dates specified in the Syllabus.)

Medallist of the Year

All winners of Monthly Medals during the season will play off for the Medallist of the Year Trophy on the date specified in the Syllabus.

Nepean Foursomes

Playing in fours, 2 competitors play as partners on 3 ⁄ 8 of their combined handicaps.  Both players drive from the tee, then play their second shot.  They then select the best ball and the player whose ball is discarded plays the next shot, after which players take alternate strokes until ball is holed out.  PENALTY for hitting out of turn - one stroke and distance.

The Margaret King Matchplay Event

This Match Play event will be played in accordance with the Draw, and will commence in April.  Winners to arrange further matches as required within the time specified on the Draw.  Previous month's card not required.
